Auburn Football Practice Report

August 27, 2000

AUBURN- Auburn continued game preparations for Wyoming with a two and a half hour workout on the practice fields Sunday afternoon. The Tigers worked with their position coaches before concentrating on the game plan for Thursday's season opener.

Head Coach Tommy Tuberville was pleased to see several players return to practice after missing time with injuries. Included in the group was offensive linemen Monreko Crittenden (heat related illness), Jeremy Toungett (knee) and defensive tackle Roderick Chambers (knee).

"We had a good practice today," Tuberville said. "We had several players back that had missed time. Monreko Crittenden and Jeremy Toungett both practiced and it was good to see them back. We now have two-deep in the offensive line which is important. Roderick Chambers also practiced and it was good to see him back out there."

Auburn's practices will be closed to fans and media beginning Monday as the Tigers put the finishing touches on their game plan.

"We have continued to work mainly on preparations for Wyoming," Tuberville said. "We didn't have much contact today and we won't have anymore until next week. Everything is progressing as we would have hoped. Now, we need to keep everybody healthy and get to the game."

Tuberville asked that fans wear orange to Thursday's game against Wyoming. The Tigers and Cowboys kick off at 7:01 p.m. (CT) at Jordan-Hare Stadium in a game televised nationally on ESPN.
