AUBURN- Auburn spent the last half of its two-hour practice
under the lights of Jordan-Hare Stadium on Monday evening while working
on simulated game conditions. Head Coach Tommy Tuberville discussed the
Tigers final practice preparations for the Tigers' 2000 opener.
"We went to the stadium tonight and put our game plan in,"
Tuberville said. "We needed to come out here. We had a lack of
communication in several areas. We have so many young guys, we have to
make sure we know what we're doing. It looks like we're ready to go.
The game plans is in and we'll have a short walk through tomorrow and
get ready to go."
Tuberville announced following practice that former Tigers James
Owens and C.H. "Babe" McGehee will lead the team in Tiger Walk prior to
Thursday's game. Owens, a fullback from 1970-72, helped lead Auburn to
a 10-1 record in 1972. An end for the Tigers from 1939-40, McGehee
scored Auburn's first touchdown in what was then Auburn Stadium against
Florida on Nov. 30, 1939.
Auburn will have their final practice prior to Thursday's game
against Wyoming on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. on the practice fields. The
Tigers and Cowboys will kick off at 7:01 CT on Thursday before a
