AUBURN- The Auburn football team worked for the first hour on the football practice
fields before moving to Jordan-Hare Stadium for an hour dress rehearsal for
Saturday's season opener against Appalachian State.
Auburn spent the hour at the stadium working under the lights and running scripted
plays. Head coach Tommy Tuberville and his staff also used the time to iron out organizational
details such as which benches the offense and defense will use in the game.
Tuberville has been pleased with his team's attitude as game-day draws nearer.
"This was our first time in the stadium for the 1999 football team," Tuberville said.
"We went through a lot of basic stuff. The enthusiasm has been really good and the guys are
getting their legs back. The coaches are getting excited. It's still early though, we still
have a good ways to go. We've gotten a lot of things done in the last couple of days.
Tomorrow we'll brush up a little more and Friday we'll get on with the mental part of the
game."
Auburn will practice at 4:30 p.m. in its final full workout before Saturday. Kickoff
for the Appalachian State game is slated for 6 p.m. (CT).
