AUBURN-The Tigers spent the first 30 minutes of practice
indoors because of light rain showers before finishing the final hour
and a half outdoors in damp, soggy conditions behind the Auburn Athletic
Complex Tuesday afternoon.
"It wasn't a great day for practice," Auburn head coach Tommy
Tuberville said. "We had too much rain. Plus, we've got several guys
fighting the flu. We've got three or four guys that are really down in
the weather, but it's something we'll just have to deal with.
"Hopefully, we'll be able to get through this and get some of
these guys back on the field for practice. Jeremy Toungett didn't even
go out there today. Josh Weldon, Javor Mills, Marcus White and some
other guys just didn't have any energy."
Tuberville said part of practice was spent working on special
teams, kickoff and punting in particular.
"We worked on assignments in the kicking game. We didn't get
to have any contact because of the weather. We know we're going to see
the running game on Saturday and hopefully we'll be able to get a good
day in tomorrow," Tuberville said.
Auburn will continue to practice Wednesday and Thursday in
preparation for Saturday's nationally televised match-up against No.
18 Ole Miss in Oxford. The game is slated for a 6 p.m. kickoff and will
be televised by ESPN2.
