AUBURN- After two consecutive days of practicing in the indoor
practice facility, the Auburn football team was able to practice
outdoors in a two-hour session Thursday. The Tigers spent the practice
working on final preparations for their Saturday Southeastern Conference
opener at Ole Miss.
Head Coach Tommy Tuberville talked about the Tigers final
practice prior to this weekend's game against the Rebels.
"It's amazing what fresh air will do for you. We feel a little
bit better today," Tuberville said. "We were able to do some full
speed work with no contact. We worked on our kicking game and short
yardage on both defense and offense. We went through our game plan from
top to bottom. It seems like we know it pretty well."
Tuberville also talked about the continuing virus that has hit
the team.
"Alex Lincoln didn't practice because of a stomach virus and
Mark Brown didn't even come to practice because of a stomach virus.
It's hitting us pretty good. The medical staff said that several other
guys have symptoms. We'll have to play through it and go with who we've
got and see how everyone is on Saturday."
Auburn will depart Friday afternoon for Saturday's game in
Oxford. Televised by ESPN2, kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.
