AUBURN- Auburn backup guard Jay Heard will not return to the
Tiger basketball program, head coach Cliff Ellis announced Monday.
The Oxford, Ala., native averaged 3.6 points and 1.1 rebounds
and shot 37 percent from the field for the Tigers as a sophomore last
season while appearing in 25 games.
If Heard transfers to a Div. I school, he will have to sit out
the 2000-01 season under NCAA rules and will have two years of
eligibility remaining.
