Men's Tennis Post Victories At Seminole Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Auburn tennis players Estevom Strecker and Ryan Sanders both advanced to the singles semifinal rounds at the Seminole Fall Classic at Florida State this weekend.

Strecker won three matches in straight sets over FSU's Oren Belillti, Central Florida's Augusta Sanabria, and FSU's Deni Franulovic before falling to Florida Atlantic's Juan Ross, 6-2, 6-3, in the semifinals. Sanders also had a strong showing by beating Florida Atlantic's Ruben Cruz and FAMU's Kamau Murray before losing in the semifinal round to Florida Atlantic's Sandro Spotti, 6-4, 6-4. Also in singles action, Mark Kovacs advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to Central Florida's Michael Guerin, 6-3, 6-4.

Raitis Tukans advanced to the consolation final with three straight victories. In the final MTSU's Daniel Klementz defeated Tukans, 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles, Auburn's duo of Strecker and Andre Boz advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over FAMU's Kareem Mennett and John Richards, 9-8, before losing to MTSU's pair of Michael Chamberlain and Mehdi Belbacha, 8-1.

Kovacs and Tukans advanced to the consolation finals of doubles before losing to Valdosta State's pair of Nicolai Sablowski and Rasmus Larsen, 8-5.

Auburn returns to action in Florida, October 29-31, at the Gator Invitational at the University of Florida.
