GAINESVILLE, Fla.The Auburn men's tennis team competed in the Gator Invitational over the weekend, playing the University of Miami on Friday, South Florida on Saturday, and host University of Florida on Sunday. In singles action Estevam Strecker, Mark Kovacs, and Raitis Tukans each won two matches while in doubles action the pair of Kovacs and Tiago Ruffoni as well as Marcel Mizerski and Tukans each won two matches.
Against Miami, Auburn won two of the three doubles matches and won three of the five singles matches with wins by Strecker, Kovacs, and Boz.
In the second day of the invitational against South Florida, Auburn posted victories in three of the four doubles matches as well as five of the eight singles matches with wins by Ruffoni, Kovacs, Tukans, Julien Curatella, and Mizerski.
In the final day at the Gator Invitational, Auburn lost all three doubles matches to Florida and won two of their six singles matches with wins by Strecker and Tukans.
The Tigers conclude their fall season next weekend at the Regional 3 Tournament November 4-7 in Athens, Georgia.
