INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- Former Auburn standout will represent the United States for
the second time in his career as he made the 2000 U.S. Olympic team in the
100m free. Tucker finished third with a career best time of 48.95 as he became
the third Auburn swimmer to make the 2000 U.S. team. Tucker was on the '96
team in Atlanta where he was a member of the gold medal winning 400 free relay
team.
Junior Kevin Clements advanced to the finals in the 200 IM as he finished second with a time of 2:02.52. Clements finished fourth in the 400 IM finals and fifth in the 400m free finals earlier in the week.
Annemieke McReynolds advanced to the finals of the 200m breast when she finished fifth with a time of 2:29.41. The Wildewoode, Ga. native was a silver medalist in this event at the 1999 Pan Am Games.
The finals for the men's 200 IM and the women's 200 breast will be held Monday evening. The prelims and semi-finals of the men's 50 free and 100 fly and women's 800m free and 200 back will also be held on Monday.
The Trials will continue until Aug. 16. The alternates and coaching staff will be named following the meet.
