Women's Basketball Adds Another Signee

AUBURN- Michelle Greene, a native of LaGrange, Ga., signed a national letter of intent to play for Auburn University's women's basketball program beginning in the 2000-01 season, it was announced Monday by head coach Joe Ciampi.

Greene, a 6-3 post player, averaged 15.0 points, 15.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game as a senior last season at Troup County High School. She was named the teams' Most Valuable Player and the best defensive player as well as earning a spot on her second straight All-Area Basketball Team.

"Michelle is an excellent inside player," Ciampi said. "She will be a nice compliment to our current team and give us great depth inside."

Greene, who will enter Auburn as a freshman, has spent the past three summers playing for the Georgia Dream AAU Team that has won three straight state titles and placed fifth in the nation in 1998.
