Kellie Jolly Harper Named Administrative Assistant

AUBURN- Former University of Tennessee Lady Volunteer standout Kellie Jolly Harper has been named administrative assistant for the Auburn women's basketball team, announced head coach Joe Ciampi. Jolly Harper, 22, comes to Auburn after a heralded collegiate career at the Tennessee where she helped guide the Lady Vols to three consecutive national titles in 1996, 1997, and 1998.

"We are very excited to have Kellie join our program," Ciampi said. "Her knowledge, desire, and hard work exhibited on the playing court at Tennessee is a direct reflection of her work ethic off the court."

Jolly Harper will handle all administrative duties for the Auburn women's basketball program.

As a senior in 1998-99, she was an honorable mention All-America selection by the Associated Press, after averaging 7.5 points and 4.1 assists. She was also a second-team All-SEC selection.

During her junior campaign, she averaged 7.6 points and 3.8 assists in guiding the Lady Vols to a perfect 39-0 record. In the national championship game, she poured in a career-high 20 points and was named to the All-Final Four team.

In her four-year career in Knoxville, Jolly Harper tallied 894 points, 450 assists, and ranks in the school's top-ten lists in assists, three point field goals, three-point field goal attempts, and three-point field goal percentage.

Jolly Harper was drafted in the fourth round of the 1999 WNBA draft by the Cleveland Rockers.

A 1999 graduate of Tennessee, the Sparta, Tenn., native received her bachelor's degree in mathematics.

A three-time academic All-SEC recipient, Jolly Harper also graduated with honors.

She is married to Jon Harper, a former basketball manager for the Auburn women's basketball program.
