AUBURN- The Auburn women's tennis team defeated Florida A&M 9-0, despite chilly temperatures at the Luther Young Tennis Center. The win marked the second straight shut-out for the Tigers. Auburn improved to 2-0 on the season.
The Tigers were led by Lucy Altman, who after being down 5-1 to FAMU's Dia Collins in the second set rallied to win six straight games, grabbing a 6-1, 7-5.
"Todays match was against a good unranked team. Our team played quite well. This match will help us get ready for Florida State on Saturday," Head coach Troy Porco said.
The Tigers return to action Saturday, Feb.12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Luther Young Tennis Center. The first 150 guests receive a free t-shirt compliments of the Auburn Athletic Department.
