Women's Tennis Upsets #23 Kentucky

AUBURN- The 75th ranked Auburn women's tennis team defeated #23 Kentucky, 5-1 at the Luther Young Tennis Center. With the win, the Tigers improved to 5-7 on the season and 1-2 in the SEC, while the Wildcats dropped to 7-6 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

"This is the best win our program has had in a long time," Auburn head coach Troy Porco said. "Kentucky is very well coached and a well prepared team. We competed very well again today and were able to come out on top. I'm very proud of our team for the effort they have given and continue to give."

The Tigers won five out of six singles matches to clinch the victory. Auburn won on courts one, two, three, four, and five, but was defeated on court six. The Tigers were led by sophomore, Andrea Piski who defeated Carolina Mayorga, 6-4, 6-2, on court one.

The Auburn women's tennis team returns to action Sunday, March 19 when they face #3 Georgia in Athens at 1:00 p.m. (CST).
