Kristin Knapp

Assistant Coach

 

A former standout player at Notre Dame, Kristin Knapp joined the Auburn women's basketball staff in June of 1996. Knapp is responsible for tutoring the post players as well as handling many of the team's administrative duties.

Among her responsibilities, Knapp coordinates team travel, handles the budget, oversees video tape exchange and assists with scouting.

As a power forward at Notre Dame from 1990-94, Knapp led the Irish to two appearances in the NCAA Tournament in 1992 and 1994, three Midwestern Collegiate Conference Championships and a berth in the 1991 NIT Tournament. She was a member of the 1991 MCC All-Freshman Team and participated in the U.S. Olympic Festival, winning a bronze medal.

several charities. She supervised volunteers at the YWCA Run Jane Run Annual Golf Benefit for disadvantaged mothers and South Bend and she worked at the 1993 Children's Carnival to benefit the Michiana Arts and Science Center. Knapp participated in the South Bend Schools Volunteer Reading Program and a basketball shooting clinic for girls.

Following her graduation with a bachelor's degree in history in 1994, Knapp spent one season playing professionally in Sweden before taking over as the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach at Santa Barbara (Ca.) High School for two seasons.

A native of Santa Barbara, Knapp has served as camp counselor at the Pepperdine University women's basketball camp and as a director of the City of Santa Barbara Coeducational Basketball Camp.
