Troy Porco

Entering his second season as the women's tennis coach at Auburn, Troy Porco's energetic personality has helped raise the level of expectations of the Tiger tennis team.

A native of Homestead, Fla., Porco graduated from Florida International University in 1990. After graduation, Porco took the reigns as his alma mater's tennis coach where he amassed a 21-15 record from 1991-1992.

In 1993, Porco took an assistant coaching position at the University of Miami where he remained until accepting the coaching job at Auburn in 1998.

While at Miami, Porco coached 11 nationally ranked players and 19 regionally ranked players. Also, during his five years at Miami, the Hurricanes appeared in the NCAA Team Championships three times and won four Big East Conference championships.

In addition to Porco's coaching experience, he served as Mary Joe Fernandez's hitting partner and traveled the pro circuit with Fernandez from 1987-1993.

Porco and his wife Chrissy have been married since 1993. They have two children, Caroline, 3 and Connor, 1.
