Overview

GIF Control is a Chrome extension that adds playback controls to GIF images on pages where you activate it. This extension processes content locally in your browser and is designed to minimize data access.

Data Collection

GIF Control does not collect, store, sell, or share personal data.

• No analytics
• No tracking pixels
• No user accounts
• No remote code execution

Permissions Used

• activeTab: lets the extension run on the tab only after you click the extension action.
• scripting: injects the extension scripts and styles into the active tab after user action.
• Optional host permissions (http://*/*, https://*/*): requested per site to enable access after user approval.

How GIF Data Is Used

When activated, GIF Control may fetch GIF image data from the current page to decode frames and provide local controls. This processing happens in-browser and is not sent to external services by the extension.

Downloads

If you click the download button, the extension saves the original GIF file to your device. This action is initiated by you.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the extension changes. The latest version should be published at the same URL used in the Chrome Web Store listing.
