# Demo: how this skill actually works A concrete run-through, so you can see the skill produce output instead of taking it on faith. Same request in, sharp plan out. --- ## User > "I built a SaaS for finance automation. 0 customers. How do I get my first 10?" --- ## Step 1 — The gate (client #0 is you) **Agent:** Before any marketing — are you using your own product? **User:** No, not really. **Agent:** Then that's client #0, and the marketing waits. The cheapest way to see the future is to solve your own problem with your own product. Come back when the answer is "yes — I use it daily." *User goes and dogfoods. Comes back.* --- ## Step 2 — Competitors are the source of truth **Agent:** Who is working the exact audience you want — and making money on it *right now*? Not the old names with no presence. The ones marketing hard today. **User:** Three tools in my niche, all running ads. **Agent:** Good. Those three are your benchmark. Let's see what they promise, how they price, and where their copy is weak. --- ## Step 3 — Steal the first client **Agent:** Your first client is already someone else's customer. Three cold emails, three angles: 1. **Speed** — "we do in one click what [competitor] makes you configure for a week" 2. **Price** — "same core, half the cost of [competitor]" 3. **Pain** — "the one thing [competitor] users complain about — we fixed it" --- ## Step 4 — The McDonald's Burger **Agent:** Your homepage says "finance automation." Flat. Here's the same product described the way McDonald's photographs a burger — the picture, not the plastic. Bold positioning, zero fiction: > "Close your books before your coffee gets cold." That's the same tool, photographed properly. --- ## Step 5 — By hand, then copy **Agent:** Client #1 by hand — cold email, free. Clients 2–10 exactly how your three competitors already win them. Paid context ads only after the first 10 are proven. --- ## Result A concrete, 3-month plan — specific competitors, three outbound angles, sharper positioning — instead of "write a blog post and do SEO." That's the difference between a mindset and a bag of tactics.
