# Privacy Policy — Tweet to Markdown Last updated: 2026-09-21 Tweet to Markdown does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. **What the extension stores.** Your formatting and export preferences and the posts you copied are saved with the browser's local storage API (chrome.storage.local) on your own computer. If "keep media on this computer" is on, the pictures of a copied post are also saved locally, in the extension's own database (IndexedDB), so that an exported note still has them when the original post is gone. All of it is used only to show your copy history, to apply your settings and to build the files you export. **What leaves your device.** Nothing. There is no server of ours, no analytics, no tracking pixel, no advertising, no remote code and no user account. The only network requests the extension ever makes are to X's own public media addresses (pbs.twimg.com), to read a picture you chose to keep, and they carry no information about you beyond the request for that file. Exported files — Markdown, packages, HTML, JSON — are built inside your browser and are never uploaded. **Deleting your data.** Use "Clear all" in the extension's History tab to erase the copied posts, "Delete stored media" in Settings to erase the saved pictures, "Forget" in Settings to drop the remembered folder, or remove the extension — that erases everything it stored. **Permissions.** "storage" keeps your settings and history locally. "clipboardWrite" puts the generated Markdown on your clipboard. "sidePanel" lets the same panel open at the side of the window instead of as a popup, if you choose that. No host permissions are requested. When you choose "Save to a folder" or "Share", the browser asks you for the folder or shows its own share sheet; the extension never reads anything else on your disk. The folder you picked is remembered on this computer so the next export can go there in one click; it is stored as a browser handle, it is never transmitted, and "Forget" in Settings removes it. The extension runs only on x.com and twitter.com pages that you open yourself. **Contact.** ozkanozarpaci@proton.me
