# Kahve Tabela MCP — Türkiye's heritage, food, and coast

A public, read-only [MCP](https://modelcontextprotocol.io) server over
[Kahve Tabela](https://kahvetabela.com), an independent open-data atlas of
Türkiye: **32,330 cultural-heritage places**, **4,106 regional dishes**
(1,679 of them carrying a TürkPatent geographical-indication registration),
and the **Mavi Koy** coastal atlas.

## Tools

| `search_dishes` | Search regional dishes, optionally limited to GI-registered ones |
| `get_dish` | Fetch one dish by slug, with its registration type and number |
| `search_mavi_koy` | Search the coastal atlas for coves, beaches, and shore points |
| `get_mavi_koy_place` | Fetch one coastal entry by slug |

Every tool takes an optional `lang` of `tr` or `en`. Full input schemas come
from the server's own `tools/list` — that is the authority, not this table.

## What is actually in the data

- **Heritage** — museums, archaeological sites, castles, mosques, churches,
  tombs, monuments; category, province, district, coordinates. 28,820 records
  carry a Wikidata identifier.
- **Yöre Sofrası** — regional dishes; the GI-registered ones link to their
  official TürkPatent registry entry with registration type and number.
- **Mavi Koy** — coves, beaches, and coastal points.

Public data only. No user accounts, no e-mail addresses, no moderation queue
on this surface. Proximity-duplicate records are filtered out, so the server
never returns an id that redirects.

## Attribution and licensing

Using the data requires attribution:

The compilation layer is Kahve Tabela's. Underlying records come from public
sources — Kültür Envanteri, OpenStreetMap, Wikidata, and the TürkPatent GI
registry — and republishing raw data means honouring the original source's
license (ODbL, CC variants). Each record names its own source, and the full
breakdown lives on the [open-data page](https://kahvetabela.com/en/acik-veri).

The files in *this repository* (documentation and the server manifest) are MIT
licensed. That covers the docs, not the atlas data — see above for the data.
