The "Smart Journal Reminder Assistant" is a utility designed to help users automatically generate and fill their daily journals using AI. 

## 2. What Information We Collect
The extension collects the following information securely from the user's inputs:
- Custom journal URL configurations
- User-provided "Key Tasks" (keywords) and "Events/Plans" to build your daily journal
- Historic journal drafts generated by the extension (up to 30 days maximum)

## 3. How Data is Handled and Stored
**Local Storage:** All user-provided configuration, draft history, and text are securely stored entirely locally on your device within your browser using Chrome’s isolated `chrome.storage.local` API. Neither the developer nor any central database collects, reads, or maintains access to your personal data. 

**Data Retention:** Up to 30 days of draft history is retained locally on your computer to provide contextual AI drafting. You can clear this history at any time through the extension's Settings tab by clicking "Clear History".

## 4. How Data is Shared & Third-Party Services
**Generative AI Processing:** When you click "Generate Drafts", the specific keyword data and recent journal history you provide are securely transmitted to the official **Google Gemini API** (`generativelanguage.googleapis.com`) for the sole explicit purpose of drafting your journal entries. 

Aside from processing requests through the official Google Gemini API to fulfill its core functionality, this extension **does not send, sell, trade, or otherwise share** your information with any other third-party servers, services, analytics platforms, or advertisers.

## 5. User Consent
By actively entering keywords and generating drafts within the extension, you consent to local data storage and the temporary transmission of text prompts to the Google API to generate your drafts.

## 6. Full User Control and Deletion
You retain absolute control over your data.
- You can click the "Clear History" button to instantly purge all locally stored drafts.
- If you uninstall the extension from your browser, all related stored local data will be permanently deleted automatically by the Chrome browser.
