Cessatech credits the substantial oversubscription of its recent IPO to a high-calibre team with strong skills and a collaborative work ethic. The Danish pharmaceuticals company invites investors to reimagine healthcare in the context of evidence-based treatment specially designed for children. Cessatech starts with drugs that have already proven effective in adults, but have yet to be adapted to address children’s unmet medical needs. It fast-tracks clinical trials — without compromising on strict standards of quality and safety — to develop innovative solutions with a reduced risk profile and a shorter time to market. The company’s leadership team brings a diverse range of experiences to the table, from drug development and paediatric analgesic research to product launches and capital raising. The pipeline product (CT001) is an analgesic non-invasive nasal spray for children experiencing acute pain, including that caused by medical procedures. Cessatech based the development of the drug on a decade’s worth of clinical experience. The treatment has shown promising preliminary results in a collaborative five-year retrospective study and was proven safe and effective through a clinical Phase II trial at Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet), which is where Cessatech began as an offshoot project. Cessatech will begin late-stage development of the drug this year. Other products in the pipeline include a solution for MRI sedation and a local anaesthetic gel.
