With over 35 years of experience and expertise, the company has become a leading global provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. It has a massive aviation MRO facility adjacent to Abu Dhabi International Airport. The 500,000 square-metre area has ample space for heavy maintenance including state-of-the-art hangars, dedicated paint facilities, back shops and extensive aircraft parking and preservation facilities. Despite unprecedented industry challenges, Etihad Engineering has honoured existing commitments while also expanding on services, capabilities and strategic partnerships and its global customer footprint. It added extra parking space during the pandemic to support the parking and preservation of customer aircraft and is now building additional hangars to expand its capacity of delivering around 300 aircraft annually. Etihad Engineering works closely with aircraft OEMs Airbus and Boeing and has strategic partnerships with leading industry players like MOOG and TDA for component services and EOS and BigRep to amplify its industrial additive manufacturing capabilities using 3D printing systems. Etihad Engineering has maintained its full workforce throughout the Covid pandemic and expended significant effort to ensure the safety and health of its employees and clients. It employs around 2,000 professionals from more than 60 nations, including a solutions-oriented team of design, engineering and innovation specialists. The company has many world firsts to its credit like the world’s first 12-year maintenance check on an A380 and the first stripping and painting of a B787 by an MRO outside the OEM network.
