The panel values sustainable packaging strategies that connect innovation with control, measurable outcomes and commercial timing. Containers Printers presents a case based less on assertion than on readiness: a practical technology platform aligned with regulation, customer adoption cycles and operational discipline. Founded in 1981, the company serves nutrition, food and medical customers in more than 30 countries across metal and flexible laminate packaging. Its sustainability proposition includes material reduction, recyclable and recycled-content pathways, compostable options where appropriate, and Lifecycle Assessment support to assess environmental trade-offs. As described to the panel, customer demand remains cautious. Inflationary pressure, geopolitical disruption and shifting regulatory timetables have delayed wider commercialisation. Management's response has been to keep data capability and packaging alternatives available, while avoiding premature capital commitments where customers are not ready to fund full tracking requirements. That restraint is a governance strength. Containers Printers recognises that sustainable packaging must preserve product safety, shelf-life and compliance, especially in food, nutrition and medical applications. Its support for Extended Producer Responsibility preparation, Singapore Mandatory Packaging Reporting and the UK Plastic Packaging Tax gives customers a route from design choice to regulatory reporting. Execution is also visible inside the business. The company has invested in solar photovoltaic generation across factories, LED lighting, efficient compressors and higher-rated air-conditioning. LowCarbonSG recognition in 2021 and 2022, including a reported 2.4 percent emissions reduction over October 2020–September 2022, supports the assessment. In a market where ambition often runs ahead of adoption, Containers Printers shows a measured ability to prepare and execute sustainable packaging options without losing sight of cost, risk and customer readiness. The Capital Finance International (CFI.co) Judging Panel congratulates Containers Printers on winning the Best Sustainable Packaging Technology 2026 Award (Global).
