# Save the handoff

Write `HANDOFF.md` in the current project folder as a snapshot of at most 30 lines. Replace its previous snapshot; do not append a transcript. Use Status, Next steps, Key files, and Decisions sections. Put the next actionable step first and include the current deliverable and relevant council archive. Distinguish completed work from blocked or untested work. Preserve the decisions that explain the current state.

If `SESSION_LOG.md` already exists and project instructions authorize session logging, append a short dated entry; otherwise do not create or modify a log. Show the user the handoff path and explain how to resume. Do not publish, commit, change global instructions, or contact other people as part of this skill.
