# Relicensing Notice: FSL-1.1-ALv2 to Apache-2.0

**Effective date:** August 16, 2026

Codedaptive, LLC, as the copyright holder of the MOOTx01 product core,
hereby relicenses the MOOTx01 product core, as published in the
Community Edition repository (mootx01-ce), under the Apache License,
Version 2.0.

## Scope

This grant is retroactive and complete:

1. **All prior released versions** of the MOOTx01 product core previously
   published under the Functional Source License, Version 1.1, with Apache
   2.0 as the future license (FSL-1.1-ALv2) — including every 0.x and 1.0.x
   release — are hereby additionally licensed under the Apache License,
   Version 2.0, effective immediately. The FSL's two-year conversion timer
   is superseded: the Apache grant applies now.
2. **All future versions** are licensed under the Apache License, Version
   2.0, as stated in the repository `LICENSE` file.

Recipients of any prior release may, at their option, continue under the
FSL-1.1-ALv2 terms that accompanied that release or use it under the
Apache License, Version 2.0 pursuant to this notice.

## What does not change

- The four foundation venue repositories (`moot-core`, `moot-semantics`,
  `moot-system`, `moot-memory`) were already Apache-2.0 and remain so.
- The ARIA interface specification, grammar, and conformance vectors
  remain free for everyone.
- Trademark rights in MOOTx01, MOOT, and ARIA are separate from this
  copyright license and remain the property of Codedaptive, LLC. See
  TRADEMARKS.md.
- MOOTx01 Pro, MOOTx01 Enterprise, and Enterprise Edition offerings
  (supported builds, compliance programs, and certain language editions)
  are separate commercial products and are not covered by this grant.

## Authority

Codedaptive, LLC is the sole copyright holder of the relicensed code.
External contributions up to this point were accepted under a Contributor
License Agreement that granted Codedaptive the rights necessary to make
this change. Contributions since are accepted under the Developer
Certificate of Origin (`DCO.md`).
