Ok I've been hunting spectres since level 46 (now 49), here's a few tips
that will save you the hassel of constantly zoning.
There is one spectre outside the cave that spawns, he's near the tree
just out from the cave. Always always kill him, if he's camped already,
good, that's one less spectre to worry about. Secondly, there is a
patroller that goes to the entrance of the cave, make sure he doesn't
pop up if you try to kill the stationary spectre just inside the cave.
If you're 47 and higher, usually you will only pull one spectre if you
stay at the entrance of the cave. I found this to be the best for
experience at level 46.
Anyhow, always make sure, before you cast, that there are no other
spectres in the area. I can safely assume you tried to pull a spectre
just at the inside of the cave, while the patroller was near, which
brought the inner stationary spectre and the spectre outside for a four
on one. =)
