Fulcrum’s www.eqportal.com/tinkering/ is the best site for tinkering.  Be prepared to spend all your money on it and to always be broke. You’ll need fletching and smithing skill or friends with those skills to advance your tinkering. You’ll need a charisma of 115 or so to buy the components at the cheapest price (you can buy jewelry to help in this). I’ve found that if your skill is 54..  the next item higher on the trivial scale will give you the least failures.  The higher your main stat (necro would be intel) gives you less failures..  when working on your skill get your intel as high as possible 200++.   After skill 100 your skill rate seems to slow down some. At least it does for me.  This is not a cheap trade and one of the many trades that are not useful to other players, so you sell to merchants at a loss. My other character has smithing, baking, brewing, pottery and tailoring mastered and none of them were as frustrating or as expensive as tinkering… but every time I get 2k saved up I go back and tinker a hoping for a couple more skill point.

Subject: [EQ_Tinkering] a beginner

Hi there, just joined. I have a young Negromancer Gnome on Karana and
I would like to know how to be a successful Tinker. For instance what
is the most easier thing to make that does not have a high failier
rate for a beginner. Where can I find the best recipes and such and a
list of Trivials.

Thanks in advance Stina.
