What I try and do is carry a 20 stack or two of the components for cleric
symbol spells. I give them to the party cleric and give him a tell to keep
the party symboled. Here is a quick list of the gems needed by level:

14 Cat's Eye Agate
24 Bloodstone
34 Jasper
44 Peridot

The clerics have a tough time as it is, since anytime someone dies they get
blamed a good deal of the time (justly or unjustly). So anything you can do
to make their job easier is a good thing.
