Some things I can think of:
1. If you climbed up the ladder once all the casting was done most likely
the timer hadn't expired on the corpse and you wouldn't have been able to
loot it anyway. In which case it was someone else in the group that did a
ninja loot and didn't tell anyone.
2. If you could have looted then it was their fault for letting it sit there
for so long. Since you didn't touch it and it poofed that meant they were
screwing around too much and it rotted or someone in the group snapped it up
and was not honorable enough to tell the rest of them.
3. Can you even loot while on a ladder? Wouldn't this player have seen you
kneel down if you had looted it?
4. She's a dark elf. Either she already has one or is a natural blonde and
doesn't need one anyway.
5. People often forget things like that 5 minits later unless they see
multiple occurrences of it. Hell, I have a hard time remebering who I
grouped with for 6 hours straight let alone someone who called someone else
a Ninja Looter one time. You said that others wouldn't listen to you.
Chances are they weren't listening to her either.

Well, I mosied on down to Lower guk, naked, following the excellent
instructions given.
Went down naked;)
Made it to the Tower allright, and to the assassin room. This is where the
MAnure hit the proverbial fan (sighs sadly).
I waited to look up the ladder until All the casting was done. I peeked my
head up to see what the room looked like, and dropped back down.
Not one second after I did this, some dark elf woman jumps down, and calls
me a Thief. Loot thief. every name in the bloody book..
all I said was "eh?"
and she went on to say She saw me on the ladder, then the corpse
dissappeared, then I "ran"
I didnt run, I was at the bottom of the ladder, politely waiting for
someoen to say "Carapace for loot, or Mask for loot"
Supposedly, I "Stole" The mask, and now im going to be blacklisted, my name
will mean nothing, no one will trust me. she start screaming out loud over
shout, saying no one should trust me, that I am "an (insert colorful verb
here) loot thief. No matter what I said to her, , or over Shout. no one
would listen to me.(Lynriss was her name. Fibtik, Wokka, arthon where in her
group as well)

I tell you now that I did not loot a mask=(
