But if that pet took up a slot in the group, then what would happen? Choice
a warrior or a Necro with a like level pet? I think the Necro will add more
power to the group almost every time. Sure the pet isn't smart like the
warrior hopefully is, but then again its a two for one deal. You can get
the pet and another spellcaster so if the pet is anywhere near as good why
wouldn't you choose that option?

Um who said's a pet isn't supposed to be better then another class? Did
verant ever once state that? Again you can do other things to make up for
melee so it's not unbalancing can my pet mes? charm? mana song ? heal song?
Or hell can it even think? A pet in no case is a replacement for a real
thinking tank not once have I ever seen somebody go no we don't want you for
our group we got a necro pet or a magician pet.
