Actually it does affect faction. It takes away your basic racial modifiers
and sets them for Dark elf. However, just like any other dark elf if you
killed a lot of crushbone orcs or Nektulous Guards you will have lowered
your faction as much as any dark elf who did the same thing. My dark elf
enchanter on Tallon is kos in Neriak because I'm Agnostic and spent a lot of
time in Crushbone killing Orcs. I can enter Felwithe without an illusion
though.
