Hmm, my interpretation of Rokken's email is:
1)If you have a same instrument on your mouse pointer, you will cancel out
any instrument bonus from having an instrument equipped. This is definitely
a bug.
For example: You have a lute in your 2nd weap slot, you have another lute on
your mouse pointer. You sing Hymn of Restoration. You do *not* get the
instrument bonus.
2) If you have a different instrument on your mouse pointer, it will not
cancel out the instrument bonus from your equipped instrument.
Example: Lute in 2nd weap slot, drum on your mouse pointer. You sing Hymn of
Restoration. You do get the instrument bonus.
3) However, this does not mean that an instrument that is on the mouse
pointer will give a bonus.
Example: Lute in 2nd weap slot, drum on your mouse pointer. You sing Selo's
Accelerando. You do *not* get instrument bonus.
4) Any instrument in an inventory slot has no effect on any songs,
regardless of what type of instrument is equipped in the 2nd weap slot.
Let me know if I interpreted this correctly. I just didn't see anything in
Rokken's analysis that would lead one to believe that an instrument that is
on the mouse pointer would give an instrument bonus for a song.
