<div id="ygrps-yiv-1911950257">They aren&#39;t really &quot;hot keys&quot;. They actually give you access to that slot<br/>
in your inventory or equipment. So yes, it&#39;s not just a single button press<br/>
to switch, but it is simpler than going to the actual inventory screen.<br/>
What I have is a Weapon, Shield and 2 instruments. If I want to switch to<br/>
an instrument it&#39;s 2 clicks: pick up weapon, swap with instrument and swap<br/>
with shield (I just leave the shield on my cursor). When I want to switch<br/>
back I swap the shield with the instrument, swap the instrument with the<br/>
weapon and drop the weapon back into it&#39;s slot.<br/>

SO it&#39;s 3 mouse clicks to switch to an instrument or to switch back to a<br/>
weapon, but the up side is that I can do it while I&#39;m running, assisting in<br/>
a fight or whenever I want without having my view obstructed with the<br/>
inventory screen. Also it&#39;s very fast once you get used to it, I can switch<br/>
either way in around a second, just click click click.<br/>

I strongly suspect this question stems from lack of experience, so please<br/>
bear with me.<br/>
Even if I have hot buttons for my melee weapon and instrument, don&#39;t I have<br/>
to still drag either item to my melee slot on my inventory screen to be<br/>
using it? How can a hot key speed this process up?<br/>
