I'm not sure exactly what the filter does, but it won't filter emails with
naughty words. Yes I'm certain, I just did a John(tm)-like test with some
friends on two other mailing lists using a variety of words and phrases.
<evil grin>

I think the filter has something to do with preventing you from subscribing
to an adult content list without knowing what you're getting into.
