Okay, cool, I'll give it a whirl. Just out of curiosity, why don't you /log
everything, then just parse the times from the log file? Is there some
inaccuracy associated with this?

Make sure you have 0% PL or very close to it. Make sure your
ping time is relatively stable too.

Equip an instrument and remove your lambent gloves (they're
magical), or equip a FS weapon and a shield. Find a wisp.
Get it to attack you without hurting it (Chain works fine).

Stopwatch ready, attack it. Ignore the first attack message
so you don't bias the results because it's in synch with you
turning on auto-attack. Upon seeing the second attack
message, start your stopwatch. This is attack #0. Count the
attacks. At #50 (or #20 or #10), stop your stopwatch. Enter
the time into a spreadsheet.

Be sure you're counting attack messages, not swing animations
or sound effects. I log these tests so I can go back later
and recount the attack messages to be sure I haven't mis-
counted.
