Niv's absorbs spell damage, not melee damage. As far as I know, it will
still drop when hit with spell damage, but I haven't tested it recently.

Actually im pretty sure they fixxed nivs mel. of preservation. I use it
instead of heal song now. I also tested it the other day. It has not dropped
of any more when I got hit.
