I play at 640x480, but then I also use a pair of LCD Shutter glasses to get
some realistic depth perception. Things look fabulous and the mind tends to
do antialiasing which makes objects look even better at low resolution than
a high resolution without the glasses. If you ever get a chance to demo
some of these glasses, I highly recommend it.

So I'm a bit spoiled. Also I have no lag whatsoever switching between
windows (though it is annoying as hell that the inventory window is like 1/2
the size of my screen
I _never_ play at 640x480. The game just _looks_ much nicer at higher rez.
I also play full screen (with the overlays) because it's less distracting
than the gaming "window"
