definitely not lake of ill omen. you'll regret going there:
1) constantly you'll have to take the boat back to antonica/faydwer to get
new songs. (it's a painful ride to take daily)
2) you'll outpace your friends stuck in oasis/e karana/unrest. (or those
wise enough to follow my warning)
3) your skills won't max out because they didn't get sufficient use between
levels.
4) you'll earn the emnity of all your guildmates in hell levels.
5) you'll be accused of being a powerleveller even tho you only play after
work to wind down and log off in time to catch the simpsons.
6) constant "Gratz!" spam on the guildsay channel.
the zone is starting to get crowded on the karana server so i expect it'll
be another oasis soon.
for bards around 11-18, i highly suggest field of bones. another iksar
newbie zone. i'm far from a powerleveller, but my poor cleric was 15th
level friday night and he's now 21.
i have an uneducated theory what makes these zones great. i think the xp
reward in newbies zones are a bit higher to give chars a leg up in
levelling. either that or they were designed this way to mask the
troll-like xp growth on iksars.
