Actually, they can drop on any 50+ mob, including Dino in OOT from
pre-expansion. They are a little more common now with the introduction of
more 50+ mobs, but still are worth quite a bit. I don't know any exact
prices, but imo you'd be selling yourself short at 2k. Then again, the
items I'm selling are always worth more than the items I'm buying and
whatever someone is willing to pay is ALWAYS the going price. :p
