Very true. That's actually what makes the bard DoT's perfect for this.
They do such small easily handled increments of damage that it is easy not
to have them do too much damage while the mob is charmed. I had no corpse
losses while using this technique.
Many innocent mobs were harmed and killed in the making of this tactic.

There is one danger to this. If the mob dies while charmed you will get no
exp and the corpse will poof.
