I think the reason you don't get a resist message is because Dispel-type
effects can't be resisted (to my knowledge), i.e. there is no resist check
for this type of spell. I have had dispel cast on me before with none of my
buffs being removed. I guess that could be what you would call the closest
thing to a resist. Otherwise I would treat dispels in the same manner as
Theft of Thought - your mana can't be stolen if you don't have any mana to
begin with.
