What about PVP?

On a non-PvP server the only time you can charm a PC is after an NPC has
charmed them first. For instance, if you are hunting in Mistmoore and one
of those nasty dark elf chicks charms your groups warrior and he starts
bashing on you, you can recharm him and send him back after the enemy.
That
is a rather amusing but generally rare situation, typically when that
occurs
you find that you are charmed as well ;-)

Our charm only lasts about ~10 seconds per cast and its tricky. With lots
of practice you can do spectacular things like go to the Rathe mountains
and
charm a hill giant to fight another hill giant and then find a new one to
charm to finish off the survivor ad infinitum.

I guess the game developers really started limiting the power of bard charm
when the first reports of people charming the Maestro in Hate started
coming
in ;-)

Can we send NPC's or any critters we charm against other players as well?
That WOULD seem pretty powerful.

And from what I've read/heard, we used to be able to charm other players,
but I can see why they would take that away...that would be a little tough.

Charm is an extremly powerful ability. Our charm can be very overbalancing
since mobs hit so damn hard at high levels and we have the ability to
recharm while getting the crap beat out of us. Be happy they gave us the
new charm :-) It's sad that I am pretty retiring the song at this point
(too many mobs too high lvl now), but I really can understand why the
limited us...
