SSoY is still a weapon worthy of respect at 49, but
you may indeed want to look at upgrading weapons.
My recommendation would be to start planning on new
armor. Imbrued is a pretty nice upgrade to Lambent if
you have friends going to Hate. Be prepared for a
long trip and remember that if you want the Maestro to
kill you fast, chain play shield of songs before he
starts lifetapping ;-)
Barring that:
Camp treeweave in BW. (AC 25 and str +10 -- 2K on
rodcet Nife and dropped by forest giant ancients and
the named giant at the fort.) SOW potion and three
chant kiting in the bowl under the giant fort is quick
and easy xp till lvl 51 or so -- but it mindnumbingly
boring, heheh
Also, think about going to skyshrine and camping some
of the armor drops there AC isn't much different than
lambent but resists on this stuff make it worth
wearing on raids. Keep the better AC stuff for
grindage.
KC drops some good armor and weapons for bards too --
watch the trains. Selos works in this zone -- that,
and AOE fear will usually give you enought time to
help your group make it to the zone when there are too
many adds.
