We can use em. Bards can use many of the intel-caster-only
items. We can use a couple of the wis-caster-only items too
(totems come to mind, not that they do us much good). I think
it's a concession to us being jacks of all trades.

(Happily bonking people and monsters on the head with my slime
crystal staff to work on 1h blunt - it's BRD ENC MAG NEC WIZ.
My friends keep calling it a giant Q-tip though...)
