My guess would be that there is no relation to charm and clearing a mob's
shit list. So in this case, the player that attacks the uncharmed mob goes
to the top of it's shit list and charming it has no effect, since it's
already attacking it's prime target.

Maybe if you hit it was Kulin's Lullaby then charmed it you'd regain
control.
