As well, this is a total misreading of Eduin's article. He advocates
Shamans melee as_part_of_a_group. I've played with Eduin and he's not
crazy enough to try to melee solo at high levels either. He just noticed
what a lot of us already knew, if you don't spend most of your time
sitting on your butt meditating, you get more exp and have more fun.
