Lets see if I can "refute this basic statement". You have defined the
groups, pure casters, hybrids and melee'ers. According to the rules you
defined, lets put the classes in those groups.

Pure Casters - Cannot wear True Armor
Wizard
Magician
Necromancer
Enchanter

Hybrids - can wear a limited subset
Druids
Shamans
Monks
Rogues
Rangers

Melee - can wear all
Warrior
Paladin
Shadowknights
Bard
Cleric

If you have at least the INT of an Ogre, you should clearly see that these
catagories are not correct. Obviously you cannot define hybrids by the
type of armor they wear.
