# Gemini Conversation Archive

Use the `gemini-conversation-archive` MCP tools to inspect a Google Takeout ZIP, an extracted Takeout folder, or a Gemini `MyActivity.json` / `MyActivity.html` file.

- Start with `inspect_takeout` and report the exact number of source activity records and linked conversation IDs it found.
- Use `search_conversations` for keyword search and `read_conversation` for the exact imported activity text and metadata.
- Preserve original wording. Clearly distinguish source text from summaries, and mention if a Takeout record contains only a prompt or partial activity.
- Never claim the export contains every Gemini reply unless the source records actually include those replies.
- The archive is parsed on-device. Do not upload, share, or copy its contents into another service without the user's request.

To obtain an archive, the account owner requests it from Google Takeout. Select **My Activity**, open **All activity data included**, select **Gemini Apps**, and export. The separately named **Gemini** product is for Gems data. Google may take hours or days to prepare the archive.
