We will be shutting down the OpenFoundry Project Hosting service about 3 months from now on Dec. 1, 2016.

The following service listed here will not be available till then:

  • User Account
  • Version Control System (Subversion, Git, CVS)
  • Issue Tracker
  • Forum
  • FTP

Besides that, all the files and data you submitted in the Version Control System will be archived and well stored in the OpenFoundry server. However we strongly recommend that you migrate these materials off OpenFoundry to other source code hosting platforms such as GitHub quickly.

The 2015 Joint Workshop on Open Data Research --- jointly organized by Academia Sinica (Taiwan), Open Data Institute (UK), and the British Trade and Culture Office in Taiwan --- will be held on March 20, 2015 at Academia Sinica in Taipei. The goal of the workshop is to promote the exchange of ideas, practices, and perspectives about open data, in particluar in the context of research and development. Speakers and panelists from UK and Taiwan will present and discusss case studies, best practices, and research projects. All are invited to take part in the workshop. It is hoped that by engaging the various research and technical communities in Taiwan, UK, and worldwide, this event will help enable further open data research opportunities and connections.

You are much encouraged to participate in the workshop if you are or will be working on datasets released by others to the public for reuse. If you have been or are considering releasing your datasets to the public, you have more the reason to participate. Developers, researchers, students, and citizens, you are all welcomed. Let us all learn from one another to help shape open data practices.

開放資料的研究與分享

「2015 開放資料研究聯合工作坊」近期將於 3 月 20 日在台北中央研究院舉行。這項活動由中央研究院、開放資料協會 (Open Data Institute, ODI) 、以及英國貿易文化辦事處 (British Trade and Culture Office) 所共同協力籌辦。工作坊的舉辦目的在於促進台灣、英國、以及在地與全球社群在開放資料研究領域的資訊分享。

此次活動能夠讓與會講者，就開放資料相關的想法、實踐，及觀點進行交流，特別就研究與發展這個脈絡來著墨。來自英國與台灣的講者和與談人，將就開放資料的案例研究、最佳實踐，以及研究專案內容這些主題進行呈現和討論。所有聽眾都非常歡迎能夠就這些討論進行參與。預期的成果是，藉由台灣、英國，及全球各方研究與技術社群的參與，本次活動能開啟開放資料研究未來的發展機會與人際網絡！

引言：Proxmox VE 是一套基於 Debian Linux 核心的開放原始碼虛擬化平台，透過它內建的作業系統虛擬化技術 (Container) 以及 Hypervisor 虛擬化技術 (Virtual Machine)，兩者強力的結合應用之下，提供企業 IT 一個全方位、易於管理、功能強大且低成本的私有雲端基礎建設。

引言：今日筆者所要介紹的一款 SME Server 9.0 開放原始碼閘道伺服器，是如今國內外極為少有的全功能 IT 解決方案。它非常適用在中小型的企業網路架構之中，不僅可以幫老闆節省掉不少的建置成本，又可作為內外網路間、人員間協同作業時的安全管理平台。

簡介

在 IT 預算相當有限的中小型企業營運中，若是想要自行建置一部全功能的閘道伺服器，來提供內外用戶端使用者跨平台的網路連線服務，即便是聘請了 Linux 伺服器平台的專家，也得花費好一段漫長的時日，才能夠建構出一個像樣的伺服器，更別說是採用以 Windows Server 平台為主的商用伺服器建置了，需要投入的成本肯定是相當可觀的。

早在 SME Server 8.0 時，筆者就已經注意到它的存在，等了近一年多的時間，歷經了 8.1 版本，如今最期盼的 9.0 正式版本終於發行了。值得注意的是，8.0 版本是架構在 Centos 5.8 的 Linux 作業系統之上，而 8.1 則是 CentOS 5.10，至於最新的 9.0 版本則是 CentOS 6.5。

引言：針對知名的 Moodle 線上學習系統的建置，對於企業 IT 人員並非只是把它安裝好之後，就開放給所有員工來使用。而是必須進一步思考，如何藉由此系統來提升學員與老師之間的互動關係，並且提供一個更易於使用與安全的數位學習環境。本文將以實戰指引的方式，來告訴所有已導入或是即將導入 Moodle 線上學習系統的企業 IT，如何為您公司的 Moodle 網站，打造出更安全、更流暢的數位學平台來改善同仁們的學習品質。
