It runs against a metadata source you choose and fixes the bugs that made Readarr lose books. You need a metadata source: Readarr Redux has no built-in one. Run rreading-glasses (https://github.com/blampe/rreading-glasses) yourself or use a public instance you trust, then set it in Settings, Metadata Source. It is a drop-in for the linuxserver.io Readarr container: config.xml and readarr.db sit at the root of /config. To move over, stop your old Readarr container and copy its appdata folder to the path below first, so the old container keeps an untouched copy. The database upgrade can't be undone without that copy. Until a login is set up, the web UI asks for a one-time setup code, which Readarr prints to the container log at every start.
